What’s Inside Your Computer?

Only 10% of the American public  have items in offsite storage facilities. Even though that seems low, 10% is quite a large number of households needing to have a list to remember and prove ownership if they face a loss.

Another unique type of inventory is for an item that, according to the Pew Research Center, is in 84% of American households. Your personal computer.

The cost of a computer can range from a few hundred dollars to over $5,000. If you had to file a claim, how would you prove the value of your computer? Will you be able to list the memory, RAM, and other features that will help prove yours had a value in the thousands rather than hundreds of dollars? Will you be able to remember all the software that you downloaded? This can be quite costly! You could be facing a large financial loss due to not being able to provide supporting information.
